Samsung Galaxy S4 Freezes When Making A Call

S4 Freezes When Making A Call
Problem: During a call, the mobile will act like it has no signal even though it does, and it will freeze when I try to end the call, so I have to restart the screen. It’s only when I make calls, and sometimes strange sound effects will happen too! What do I do? Oh, and the data internet never works either, no matter what I do.
Solution: Have you tried to check if the issue occurs when your phone is connected to its wall charger? If it doesn’t occur then the problem could be caused by a weak battery. Get a new battery then see if this fixes the problem.
< span style="border: 0px; font-size: 17.6px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Some form of corrupt data in your phone could also be causing this problem. Try to wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

One of the above methods have worked for most users. If you have any other solution for this error, let us know in the comments section.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge not charging via USB cable after Android 6 0 1 Marshmallow update

The Android 6.0.1 #Marshmallow update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (#GalaxyS6Edge) was rolled out about a couple of weeks ago and since updates are made available by region, many owners just started receiving notifications now. But just like previous updates, Android M also brings some issues on the S6 Edge and in this article, I will address a very serious problemâ€"phone won’t charge via USB cable.
Battery efficiency is one of Google’s areas of focus for Marshmallow so it’s disappointing to know that Samsung’s flagship devices are suffering from power-related issues shortly after the update. Below is one of the problems we received from our readers that best describes this issue:
“Hi I download the Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 Edge yesterday and today, the phone won’t charge if plugged in. However, it charges fine when charged wirelessly. Prior to the update, I was away and I didn’t bring my wireless charger, only the cable. I was able to charge it before I downloaded, so I’m sure it was only after the update that this problem started. What shall I do? Help me please. Thanks.”
Based on the problem above, here are some possibilities I can think of:
  • Something is blocking the USB / utility port
  • Damaged USB cable
  • USB port is loose or damaged
  • More serious hardware issue
Now that I told you what I think is causing the problem, I will guide you through troubleshooting this issue.
Step 1: Inspect the USB port to see if there’s a lint or debris tha t’s blocking the cable from making contacts with the receptors. Based on the description, this is very possible considering the problem just started without apparent reason. Sure the phone has undergone a major update but it’s not enough to explain why it refuses to charge via USB cable but charges fine wirelessly. If you can see something that doesn’t below, use a toothpick to get rid of it.
Step 2: If there’s nothing blocking the USB cable, then try using a different cable to see if it’s a cable issue. If the phone charges with a different cord, then at least you know the device is working fine. This time, you need to physically inspect the cord to see if there’s some kind of a break. You may also inspect both ends to see debris or foreign objects blocking the connectors. If everything looks fine, then it’s safe to rule out that the problem is inside the cover and there’s no workaround for that; you need to buy a new cable or charger.
Step 3: Assuming the phone wouldn’t charge even with a different USB cable, there’s a chance it’s just a loose connection and the issue is with the USB port. Insert the cable and try to see if there’s some kind of a play when you try to push it to any direction. If there is, then you need a technician for that.
Step 4: If it’s not a loose connection, then you need to send the phone in for further checkup. It’s possible that the update messed up the phone for you but I’m leaning on the fact that issues like this are often hardware-related and there’s nothing we can do about that than seek help from a pro. We really can’t be sure that it could be that the USB port needs replacement or it’s a more serious hardware issue.
However, before you actually send your phone in for repair, I suggest you do the master reset first to see if that makes a difference and also to delete all your personal information:
  1. First, backup all your data including your files, apps, pictures, videos, music, etc.
  2. Remove your Google account from your phone.
  3. Disable the screen locks you’ve setup.
  4. Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
  5. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power keys together.
  6. When the device powers on and displays ‘Power on logo’, release all keys and the Android icon will appear on the screen.
  7. Wait until the Android Recovery Screen appears after about 30 seconds.
  8. Using the Volume Down key, highlight the option, ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and press the Power key to select it.
  9. Press the Vol Down button again until the option ‘Yes â€" delete all user data’ is highlighted and then press the Power key to select it.
  10. After the reset is complete, highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and hit the Power key to restart the phone.
It would be wise to tell the technician that the problem started shortly after the Marshmallow update. If I were the one to fix this, I would reinstall the previous firmware version to see if the problem would be fixed because if so, then all you need to do is wait for the next update.
I hope that this simple troubleshooting guide can help you look into this problem. If you have further questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.

  2. Select "Reset/restore app preferences" >> Okay

How to fix Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus that won’t turn on Troubleshooting Guide

We actually have received a few emails from our readers who reported that their new devices (a bumped up version of the S6 Edge released 6 months ago) seem frozen and just won’t turn back on after shutting down without apparent reason.
The purpose of this troubleshooting guide is to ru le out one possibility at a time until you reach the point where you can pinpoint what the problem is or what caused it. You can then be able to formulate a procedure that will lead to the resolution of the problem or can clearly explain to the technician the issue so that it will be easier for him to troubleshoot and fix it. So, there’s no guaranteed fix here especially for hardware-related issues.

TROUBLESHOOTING

While we are always careful not to include procedures and steps that coul d potentially damage your phone, things can happen so please proceed at your own risk. If you’re not comfortable following the steps in this post, seek help from a technician immediately. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ has been released just a few weeks ago so you might be entitled to receive a brand new replacement unit if your phone does behave improperly. But for those who want to try to troubleshoot the problem then read on.
Step 1: Force restart your Galaxy S6 Edge+
This is the first thing you should do if your phone refused to come back on after it has shut down without apparent reason. The firmware plays a big role in this problem and you will have to rule that one first because if it just crashed without you knowing it, you won’t be able to fix this problem on your own because the device won’t charge nor turn on.
Unlike the previous models of Galaxy devices, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ didn’t come with a removable battery. So, the supposedly simple procedure is now a bit complicated. Samsung engineers, however, added a new feature that can be carried out by pressing a combination of keys.
To perform a force reboot, press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power key together for 20 to 30 seconds or until your device restarts. This procedure will do the simulated battery disconnect, which is equivalent to the battery pull.
If the phone was just frozen, this will fix it for you.
Step 2: Try charging your phone
If the phone didn’t respond to the force reboot procedure, then there’s a chance the battery was completely depleted. Try plugging the charger in and see if the phone responds to it.
This procedure is more than just charging your phone. It will actually give you an idea if there’s an issue with the hardware or not because even if it’s off, the LED indicator will still light up when the device is plugged in and can detect current. The screen will also display the usual charging sign.
< div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #555555; font-family: PT Serif, sans-serif; font-size: 17.6px; line-height: 28.16px; margin-bottom: 20px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">If none of these signs appear, then it is almost certain that there’s an issue with the hardware and as much as we want to know, there’s not much you can do to find out except send the phone in for repair or replacement.
Step 3: Boot the phone in different modes
Assuming your Galaxy S6 Edge+ shows the charging signs when plugged in, give it at least 10 minutes to charge before attempting to turn it on. If it still won’t respond, then try booting it up in safe mode.
  1. Press and hold the Volume Down and Power keys for 20 to 30 seconds.
  2. Once you see the Samsung logo, release the Power key immediately but continue pressing the Volume Down key.
  3. Your phone should co ntinue booting up and you will be prompted to unlock your phone as usual.
  4. You will know if the phone successfully booted in safe mode if the text “Safe mode” is displayed at the lower-left corner of the screen.
It will rule out the possibility that a third-party has gone rogue causing conflicts in the system that led to system crash. In case this procedure failed, try booting in recovery mode and if it’s successful, wipe the cache partition.
  1. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, and Power key.
  2. When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  3. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  4. Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  5. Press the Power key to select.
  6. When the wipe cache partition is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  7. Press the Power key to restart the device.
Assuming the phone booted up in recovery mode and you’ve successfully wiped the cache partition yet the problem remained, try doing the master reset.
  1. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power keys together.
  2. When the device powers on and displays ‘Power on logo’, release all keys and the Android icon will appear on the screen.
  3. Wait until the Android Recovery Screen appears after about 30 seconds.
  4. Using the Volume Down key, highlight the option, ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and press the Power key to select it.
  5. Press the Vol Down button again until the option ‘Yes â€" delete all user data’ is highlighted and then press the Power key to select it.
  6. After the reset is complete, highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and hit the Power key to restart the phone.
This is as far as you can go. Beyond this point, there’s not much you can do.

STEP 4: SEND THE PHONE IN FOR REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT

You did your part already and at this point, it is almost certain you got yourself a problematic unit. So, it’s time you contacted your service provider or the retailer where you bought the phone and have it repaired or replaced.
A brand new phone should work without any issues and if you’re experiencing this kind of problem, then don’t settle for anything but a replacement.

LG releases software update to fix LG G4s low battery life issue

Though an aging 2015 flagship, the LG G4 is a great smartphone and its only big weakness is its poor battery life, which is very short compared to many competing flagships of today.  The G4 is now available for less than $300 in many countries and that makes it a bargain phone for someone looking for a well-built smartphone with excellent camera, 2K resolution display and enough power for basic use as well as 3D gaming (todays standards). However, the G4s battery barely lasts 4 hours during video playback and with intense use you will get a little over 3 hours, which is quite low considering the G4 packs a large 3000mAh battery. Many expected the battery life to increase a fter Android 6.0  Marshmallow was released for the G4, but even the new "doze" feature couldnt improve G4s average battery life. Fortunately. G4 supports fast charging technology, which should juice it up from 0 to 100% in a little over 1 hour of time.

There is good news for people who have been charging their LG G4 smartphone twice or more on daily basis. LG has released a software update today (June 10, 2016) that is expected to bring noticeable improvement to G4s battery life. So check for software update on your G4 and run the installation. Make sure you have at least 60% before you install the software update.

If you have disabled auto update, Go to settings >> General >> scroll down and tap "About" >> Check for updates.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Moving Files From Internal Storage To microSD

Expanding the available storage space of an Android device is quite easy since all you need to do is to get a microSD card. The #Samsung Galaxy #Note4 for example has a storage capacity of 32GB which for most people is enough to store all of their music, videos and photos. Some however will find this storage not enough which is why having a microSD card is an advantage. This model for example can accommodate a microSD card of up to 128GB in size. There are however instances when issues can occur because of this card. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy Note 4 microSD card removed issue & other related problems.

Note 4 Moving Files From Internal Storage To microSD
Problem: My phone memory is 16gb  and HELP nearly full I have added  a 32 gb Samsung sd card uhs-1  and cannot find any online guide or video that refers EXACTLY to images on my screen when trying to move files to sd card
Solution: You will have to move the files from the internal storage to the microSD card manually. To do this you need a file explorer app. Using this app search for the files you want to transfer. Highlight the selected files then choose move. You will then be prompted for a target location. Choose the microSD card.

If you would like the camera to automatically save the photos taken  to the microSD card then you should change this from the camera settings.

How to create a playlist on a Samsung Galaxy S2

Although iPhone users may think iTunes is the only way to listen to music on a phone they are, as usual, not correct. Whilst iTunes is probably the best way, its far from being the only way. One of the things that all music listeners like to be able to do is create play lists, whether its something like "Music to relax" or "Romantic" or whatever it is they like to be able to just listen to a specific selection of tracks. Its not only iTunes that you can make playlists on.

To make one on the Samsung Galaxy S2 is incredibly simple and this guide will show you exactly how to do. Firstly open the default music player and then select the "Playlists" tab and press the phones menu b utton. This will leave you with a screen that looks like the one on the right hand side.
After selecting "Create" you will see a screen where you need to enter the name of the playlist and then you will see a screen like the one on the left with the name of the playlist at the top (in this case "Mash ups") and the option to "Add music". Click where it says "Add music".

After clicking on "Add music" you will see a be given a list of all your tracks allowing you to select the songs you want. As well as being given all your tracks you can select "Artists" or "Albums" from along the tabs at the top of the screen if you want to narrow down the lists. You need to select all the tracks you want (in this case a bunch of mash ups) and then press on "Add" at the bottom of the screen.
After pressing add and going back to the play lists you will see your new playlist added to the list. Remember you can make 100s of play lists so one for ever mood (or every occasion). A great use for this is to keep all your podcasts into a single list, or even keep a specific podcast list (for example a "Fighting Talk Podcast play list").

Whilst this is simple enough to do on iTunes, owners of Galaxy S2s neednt feel ashamed by their phones music player either.

Galaxy S6 Edge showing “update the security” message when sending email other issues GALAXY S6 EDGE SHOWING “UPDATE THE SECURITY” MESSAGE WHEN SENDING EMAIL

Galaxy S6 Edge showing “update the security” message when sending email, other issues.

GALAXY S6 EDGE SHOWING “UPDATE THE SECURITY” MESSAGE WHEN SENDING EMAIL.

My organization uses office 365 and on our mobiles we use Exchange Activesync emails with the 365 MDM  so we must activate with the Intune company portal.
I can setup the email with no issues, it prompts for scre en lock and for the phone to be encrypted, after that is done you get into the company portal with no problems and it goes through the entire operation fine.
The issue is that after several hours something goes wrong. The phone can continue to receive company emails, but if you try to send one you get a pop-up that tells you that you must update the security to send asUSERX@DOMAIN.COM. The admins for my company have gone over it and can’t find the issue. There does not appear to be any issues in the setup on the device or on the server side. What’s more, this is happening to ALL Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus devices in the domain, however the older Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge work wi th no issue… do you have any ideas? â€" Adrian
Solution: Hi Adrian. Since you’ve managed to isolate the problem on a certain device model, t he next best thing that you can do is to contact Samsung (or Microsoft if you think that it may be MS Office software- or server issue) so they can help you. We are yet to receive reports of similar nature so there must be something in the S6 Edge Plus connected to your network that triggers it. A good thing to ask further to help you narrow down factors is to see if all affected devices are running the same firmware version. It’s also good to know if a common company-related app or setting has been added to each unit prior to noticing the problem. Again, your best bet in resolving the problem may lie on getting help from Samsung or Microsoft. Make sure that your company provide a detailed list of troubleshooting steps and things you’ve done to isolate possible causes.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Stopped Powering On Issue Other Related Problems

One of the worst things that could happen to a smartphone is if you are unable to use it because it does not turn on. The effect is even amplified if you are waiting for an important call or text and this problem occurs. The #Samsung Galaxy #S4 is not immune to this type of problem as several of our readers who own this  device have also experienced this kind of issue on their device. To assists our readers who are experiencing this, we will discuss the Galaxy S4 stopped powering on issue & other related problems today.
Samsung Galaxy S4

S4 Stopped Powering On
Problem: My device just stopped powering on all of a sudden. Went to carrier store and the guy didn’t even spend 2 minutes with and just told me I needed a new phone because it’s the usb that’s probably broken. I just got a new usb port and installed it but still won’t come on. With the new and old port the phone will get warm but nothing else.
Solution: When the phone does not turn on the first thing that you should do is to check the battery and the charger. In this case you should verify if the charger is working properly by checking it on another device. If possible you should try to use a different charger and charging cable on your phone. A bad battery can also cause this type of issue. If this is the case I suggest you try to use a new battery on your phone. Charge the new battery and see if you get any response from your device.
Once you have eliminated the battery and charger it’s time to troubleshoot the phone. Since the device does not turn on try discharging the phone first by taking out the battery and microSD card (if you have one attached) then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then check if the phone turns on.
If the issue persists then bring your phone to an authorized service center and have the power button checked. It’s also possible that the power IC of the phone could already be defective.
S4 Died And Will Not Charge
Problem: Phone died and wouldn’t charge. Assumed problem was in the charging port. The battery and charger are fine because they work with another S4 in the house. Saw a small copper tab sticking out from the center of the charging port. Assumed it was a charging prong and tried pushing it flat against the charging tab. Then thought that a prong from the charging cable became lodged some how. Of course by moving it back and forth it broke free. Figured I needed a new charging port. I charged the battery in another phone. After reinstalling the battery the phone would not turn on. I am sure I had the battery out when I was poking around in the port. Prior to all this the phone had shut off and I thought it was due to a dead  battery. Any ideas?
Solution: You definitely must have the charging port checked as there may be some metal strips inside that are having a contact with each other. If these metal strips are designed to stay apart then the device could short circuit and not turn on at all.
Since you were able to charge the battery on a different phone then it is safe to say that the battery is working properly. If this is the case then try taking out the battery first then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. Reinsert the battery then turn on your phone. If it still does not turn on then the issue could be caused by a defective power button, an issue with the charging port, or a defective power IC. Since there is a chance that this is already a hardware related problem I suggest you have your phone ch ecked at an authorized service center.
S4 Switched Off While On Call
Problem: Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 that yesterday suddenly switched itself off while I was calling. Then constantly tried to start it, but it went in a never ending loop. So I took out the batte ry and when I reinserted the battery it all started again. Do you have any suggestions on what is causing this to occur? I have tried to get into the download mode and recovery mode, but that does not work too. The download mode screen appears, but I cannot press the volume up button and then after a few seconds it automatically goes into the loop. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Solution: One of the main reasons why the phone goes into a restart loop is due to some issues with the phone software. It could be caused by some form of corrupt data in the device or
It could be caused by a glitch in the phone software.
What you will want to do first in cases such as this is to remove the battery and microSD card of your phone. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Once this is done reinsert just the battery then turn on your phone.
If the issue remains then check if this is caused by a battery problem by connecting your phone to its wall charger then try turning it on. If it turns on normally the it’s time to replace the battery.
Try to access the phone’s recovery mode. If you can enter this mode then I suggest you wipe the cache partition of your phone first. This will delete the temporary data of your devi ce. If this does not work then proceed with a factory reset in this mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding.
S4 Does Not Turn On
Problem: I left my phone in the car for a few weeks, and now when I plug it in the red charge light comes on, but the screen stays completely black. Then when I push the power button it will vibrate. But that’s all. What should I do?
Solution: Try taking out the phone battery then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This process discharges the phone circuit and clears out its RAM. Reinsert the battery then let it charge for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. Turn on your phone. If it still does not turn on then consider getting a new battery.
S4 Boots Then Turns Off
Problem: Hi, Really hope you’ll be able to help me with this issue. I’ve scoured the internet for help, but been unsuccessful so far. Through no apparent fault of my own, my S4 has (once again) begun to be boot for like three seconds, then turn off and be completely unresponsive until I remove the battery and try again. Video of this can be seen here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3LfYDu619myQXJxTXNGQlJkb1U/view?usp=sharing. It has done this once before, where I left it for a few days and then managed to keep it alive for long enough to do a hard reset. I’ve tried connecting it to a computer and reach it through Kies, but Kies won’t recognize the phone, as if it weren’t there. Hope you’ll be able to help me, otherwise I’ll probably resort to hitting it with a sledgehammer.
Solution: It’s possible that this could be a software related issue. Take out the battery and the mic roSD card ( if your phone has one attached). Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then try to turn on your phone. If the issue still occurs try connecting the phone to its wall charger and see if it still turns off. If it doesn’t then this could be a battery related problem. Try using a different battery if this is the case.
You should also try to check if you can start your phone in recovery mode. From here I suggest you do a factory reset. Take note that your phone data will be deleted in this process so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding with this pro cedure.

Samsung Wave

Its been ages since I last posted on to this blog and Ive since had a pretty fun play with a Samsung Wave GT-S723e. The things Ive learnt from this phone have been put into a number of hubs for Hubpages which Ill link you to through out this piece.

The Samsung Wave I have is currently with Vodafone in the UK on some special 24 months offer with unlimited texts and 300 minutes for a nice price though the phone its self isnt anything brilliant its ok for what it is. The phone runs the "BADA" software which when compared to things like Android, Windows and iOS seems relatively limited. Despite this the handset is easy to use and the touchscreen is pretty accurate and works well. The battery can last a while and you can of course use a bunch of tricks to stretch out the phones battery life which aew pewtty simple and painless.

The phone has a solid 5MP camera which although not brilliant does take some pretty decent photos and are incredibly easy to transfer to a co mputer with out too much effort. Though admittedly Ive not really played with the camera enough to work out how good it actually is. In all honesty it does seem slightly better than the HTC Wildfires camera though not as good as the Sony Ericcson C902 one (the three phones I have for comparison at the moment).

As with all modern phones you can easily put your music on to the phone and of course select your own tracks as a ringtone. With out a memory card you are pretty limited to a handful of songs or photographs. The memory card you will be needing if you purchase the phone is a Micro SD card which can come in some hefty sizes and are afforable (though not "cheap" per se).

As with all modern phones there is a real depth to how far you can explore the phone but you will still be surprised by the depth of the handset and the fact there is a real wealth of secrets. I sadly didnt find some of them out until it was too late, though here is a heads up on some of the m to allow you to do things like "Screenshots" and factory resetting the handset.

On the whole the phone is a "decent" handset but not a particularly great one. If you want to be up to date this isnt the phone for you though its a steady handset for those who arent too big on multi-tasking. It does all the basic things well such as making calls, playing music, allowing you to use the net (via either 3G or Wi-fi), texting, photography, being an alarm but it doesnt do the advance things. Dont look to this phone to be a mobile office or to be a replacement to your Nintendo DS as its not that kind of device, its a phone first and foremost with some bonus.

Apple iPhone 6s Plus review Unboxing 360 degree spin design and handling controls

Apple-standard retail package

The iPhone 6s Plus arrives in a plain white retail box with the phone printed on the lid, its color reflecting the contents. The compartments beneath the phone itself accommodate the AC adapter, rated at a lowly 1 amp, and a meter-long USB-to-Lightning cable. There also a headset bundled, separately packaged.

The iPhone 6s Plus is huge for its display diagonal, and thats hardly a surprise considering i ts pretty much the same chassis as last year. At 158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3mm this years Plus model didnt have to grow as much as the compact version to accommodate the network of sensors that enables 3D touch.

At 192g its heavy, too heavy, perhaps. A full 20g more than the predecessor, all thanks to the 3D touch tech apparently, the weight is verging on becoming a burden. A solid slab of aluminum of the same dimensions wouldve weighed 245g so its almost there.
In comparison, the Galaxy S6 edge+ with its 5.7-inch display is smaller in every direction and its some good 39g lighter. The 5.5-inch LG G4 is a centimeter shorter and 37g lighter. With the same display diagonal, the Xperia Z5 Premium is 2mm narrower and 4mm shorter, but comes close in terms of weight with 180g worth of glass and metal.

Design and handling

A lot has been said about the color of the year, and we deliberately picked it for our Plus review unit. We would go ahead and call it pink, but if Apple insists on Rose Gold, so be it.
One could argue that for its sheer size and weight, the iPhone 6s Plus is a mans phone. But then again, its a better fit for a purse than a pocket for the exact same reasons.

As for the paint job, it must be the same thing that makes people want a rose gold Rolex or a pink Cadillac.
Other than the color, its a case of "spot the differences" between the 6s Plus and the 6 Plus.
Apple iPhone 6s Plus Apple iPhone 6s Plus Apple iPhone 6s Plus Apple iPhone 6s Plus
Sure, its a different grade of aluminum alloy, but show us the guy who can tell the difference just by looking. Also, just dropping the 7000-series catch phrase on every half occasion tells little of the actual mechanical properties of the specific alloy used on both of the S models, versus last seasons.
Good thing then that the bending, and dropping, and flamethrowing, and whatever-crossed-your-mind tests that flooded YouTube in the past few days actually proved that the new chassis is miles ahead of the bend-prone predecessor. We appreciate the steps Apple has taken, yet cant help but wonder who failed to do their homework on the first try.
Being an S year, we know not to expect changes in design. So well just quietly state that a year later we havent grown fond of the antenna strips on the back. Different color options make them more or less prominent, but theyre still there - and somehow more intrusive at this size. But you might not even notice them if you keep your phone packed in a case at all times.

Another eye sore are the large bezels - the iPhone 6s Plus was a champ in terms of wasteful use of footprint and nothings changed. Its the Space Grey model that will suffer the least in this respect, with its black façade successfully blending with the display. On the other three color options, our Rose Gold included, the wide white frame around the screen is a lot more obtrusive.
The craftsmanship is up to the typical Apple standards - that is to say, unlike any other. Its hard to find another smartphone on the market that just exudes luxury quite the s ame way that the iPhone 6s does, and with the Plus theres just more of it.
The 2.5D ion-exchange glass is a joy to swipe, with a nearly seamless joint where the glass meets the aluminum. The buttons fit snuggly in their cutouts and have very positive clicking action. Its only the SIM card tray, or rather the frame cutout, that catches the tips of your fingers spoiling the overall sense of perfection. Of course, if you deliberately examine it, and theres now viable reason why you should.
One of the greatest changes this generation is weight. Where the iPhone 6 Plus was on the heavy side of average for a 5.5-inch device, this new 6s Plus is simply massive and theres no two ways about it. At least it hasnt grown in dimensions, so itll fit in the same pockets, just your belt will suffer. Some cases youll be able to reuse, some not, and the softer the case material is, the higher chance you have that it will fit.

You obviously cant reach the extremes with yo ur thumb without readjusting your grip, like Apple tradition calls for. And while fumbling with the phone, you better be careful as the finely textured aluminum back is the epitome of slippery. Grab a silicone back and forget about it.

Controls

The primary mode of interaction with the iPhone - the Home button with the Touch ID embedded inside - is where its always been - dead center, below the display. Its being marketed as a secon d-generation Touch ID sensor, and it shows by the speed it takes it to recognize your fingerprint.

The identification works in a heartbeat and doesnt really allow you to have a glance at the lockscreen. Taking a screenshot of the lockscreen with Touch ID enabled is virtually impossible, as the phone gives priority to unlocking over the two-button screenshot combination. Of course, thats mostly a reviewers problem, not a users.
Up top youll find the earpiece flanked by the new 5MP front camera and the proximity sensor above.
Apple iPhone 6s Plus Apple iPhone 6s Plus
The new 12MP primary camera is in the old position, and sticks out by a little less than a millimeter. The front element of the lens is made of sapphire crystal, so it should be tougher than most anything it has to face in the real world. Its also colored differently, compared to the predecessor with a larger portion blacked out now.
